WooCommerce shipment tracking is an essential feature for any online store. It plays a vital role in the last moment service that your customer receives upon completing their sales transaction. Clients want the ability to track their orders. That’s why WooCommerce store owners need to make this information available to them.
There are lots of different tracking solutions. All of them are tailored to meet specific business needs. Order tracking plugins let online store owners provide the shipping tracking service to their customers. They can then assign the proper shipment tracking IDs to each order.
After a customer has placed an order on your site, they’re still connected to you through the order tracking page. Being able to track shipments and know exactly when they will arrive provides a new level of customer excitement and satisfaction.

Why Provide WooCommerce Shipment Tracking?
Giving customers a way to track orders is an essential feature for many e-commerce business owners. Unlike shopping experiences in typical brick and mortar stores, online shoppers have no way of knowing their order’s status unless they’re able to track it digitally.
Without this feature, you may have to begin or employ a call center to answer customer inquiries about their orders. There’s also the element of curiosity. As packages are sent from one country to another, they may sometimes encounter difficulties with customs or in transit.
Other problems can also occur. There could be an issue with the courier company that could affect order shipment. In other instances, the customer may be away from home during the scheduled delivery time, and they want to know when to be home to take over the package when it arrives.
All of these and other situations are why adding an order tracking system to your site is an absolute necessity. However, adding and maintaining such a system isn’t easy. That includes network management and data processing that needs to be handled.
The information has to be coordinated with your store, your customers, your shippers, and every other relevant point in between. A useful tracking plugin can take the time, effort, and worry for those responsibilities off of your shoulders.
Certain plugins are designed just for that purpose. They make tens or even hundreds of different shipping companies available to your customers. That feature alone can help your business stand out above the competition.
In this article, I will cover some of the top shipping tracking plugins for WooCommerce that you can use for your WordPress site.
Best Paid & Free WooCommerce Shipment Tracking Plugins
Here are some of the best free and paid advanced shipment tracking plugins for WooCommerce:
1. WooCommerce Shipment Tracking Pro by PluginHive
WooCommerce Shipment Tracking plugin from PluginHive has it all. It lets you add shipment tracking information to the order completion emails that you send to your customers. This process is automated. All tracking information will appear on both the admin side as well as the customer’s My Account page.
Shipping links are linked directly to the shipper’s APIs. This information is updated regularly by the shipping company so customers can see their order progress in real-time.
The plugin works with many different shipping services, including over 80 pre-defined companies. It also gives store owners the option to add their own local or another preferred shipping service. Store owners can remove shipping companies just as easily as they can add them.
The plugin also lets you add your own custom text to order completion emails. If you have a large number of orders that need to be updated, you can import the necessary information via CSV. There are no monthly fees, and there’s no limit to the number of shipments that can be sent.
WooCommerce Shipping Tracking also comes in a free version. The Pro version has more options than the free version. Here are some of the exclusive features found only in the Pro edition:
- Bulk importing of order tracking data using CSV.
- The ability to automatically mark orders as “complete” using FTP Import or CSV.
- The ability to create custom order tracking pages by email.
- Allowing customers to use their “My Account” page to view order tracking information.
- Using the FTP server to schedule the import of order tracking information.
- Order tracking details can be viewed from the orders page, where sellers can manually enter order tracking information and updates.
- The plugin has pre-configured support for over 80 shipping companies. You can also add and subtract different carriers according to your preferences.
- Live order tracking from both the USPS and FedEx. Store owners and customers can receive real-time order tracking information because the plugin has additional features for those carriers.
2. WooCommerce AfterShip
AfterShip is a good tracking plugin for most companies’ needs. Many of the plugin’s advanced features are only available in the premium version. Some features this tool offers include informing customers of their shipment’s status, lets users analyze the overall performance of their shipments, etc. For instance, store owners can see how many deliveries have failed or are in a pending status.
Another feature of this plugin allows users to edit order completion email content. This option can help business owners provide a better, more personalized customer service experience. The plugin’s premium version lets its users customize notification information according to their needs. You can also pay a little extra to have the option to send order completion notices to customers via SMS. The plugin pricing is month-based.
AfterShip uses top tier technology (primarily Algolia and Google Cloud Platform) to allow your customers to be able to track shipments from multiple channels with a single click.
It automatically detects shippers using the tracking number format and the list of couriers that you’ve allowed to deliver shipments from your website. You can easily add or subtract any of the 465 different shipping companies. Shipping information for orders is updated for customers every three to six hours. AfterShip provides a simple, logical layout that’s convenient for your clients.
You can use the plugin to customize your order tracking interface to fit your website’s theme. You can incorporate your brand and related content. You can even embed content from your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media content from your branding profiles into your site’s tracking page.
Another nice feature of this plugin is the ability to customize and embed your tracking button wherever you want it on your site by using shortcodes. All customers need to do is click on the tracking button to receive updates on their orders. Putting the tracking button on the order history page of your website is recommended because it’s an intuitive spot for your customers to check.
AfterShip helps you make your notification and email notifications more interactive with your clients by allowing you to customize content. You can make any edits and have these notifications sent out automatically by email or SMS.
The plugin also provides some rather robust analytic information about your orders after they’ve shipped. You can filter and search data, determine order delivery times, and who are your best-performing destinations and couriers. You can also find out if there are any delivery abnormalities or problems that need to be dealt with. This helps you to solve and eliminate any inefficiencies in your delivery system.
AfterShip works with a wide variety of plugins. There are also premium bots and extensions such as the AfterShip Facebook Bot, Google Chrome Extension, and Telegram Bot that were explicitly designed to interact with this tool.
3. YITH WooCommerce Order Tracking
WooCommerce is one of the largest and most powerful e-commerce platforms. If you’re already using WooCommerce to run your online store, then you have all the tools you need to sell products and fulfill orders. Except for one small detail. WooCommerce’s core features don’t include order tracking.
Order tracking capability has been incorporated into most online stores. It’s rare nowadays to find an online company that doesn’t allow customers to see their order status every step of the way, from the time an order is placed until the time it arrives at the destination.
WooCommerce does a lot of things, but it can’t really help you with customer concerns about their order status. If you don’t have order tracking on your site, you probably have to deal with calls, emails, and other inquiries about order delivery daily. That’s because your customers can’t see for themselves where their orders are at. The YITH Order Tracking plugin was created to address that issue.
YITH WooCommerce Order Tracking is another handy order tracking and shipping plugin (see WooCommerce shipping plugins comparison). The free version of the plugin provides an impressive array of features. The premium version has some added functionality that will be even more beneficial to WooCommerce store owners. For example, the plugin lets import tracking data associated with other third-party plugins via CSV.
Online store owners can use this plugin to display a “My Orders” button. Clicking on this button will take them to the order shipment tracking page for the respective courier. However, the plugin seems to miss out on a few things, such as the Analytics feature.
The plugin lets your customers track their orders from the moment they were placed until products arrive at their doorstep. You can customize the messages they receive and decide where you want those messages to be placed. You can use placeholders to have your consumers’ information placed in those messages automatically.
The plugin also makes it easy for you as a business owner to track order shipments as well. You can pick from several other WooCommerce plugins that you can integrate with this one to make the sales and delivery process more comprehensive and efficient. Some of these plugins include YITH WooCommerce Product Bundles, YITH WooCommerce PDF Invoice and Shipping List, and YITH WooCommerce Bulk Product Editing.
You can also use a plugin to track orders that are shipped from any of a wide variety of global carriers. Some of these carriers are A-1 International, Aramex, Canada Post, MyHermes UK, Afghan POST, Chilexpress, Overnite Dubai, New Zealand Post, Deutsche Post, DHL, and Bring Denmark, to name just a few. There are about 200 carriers in almost every area of the world that can be used.
4. WooCommerce Shipment Tracking
WooCommerce Shipment Tracking plugin has shipping tracking features that will be helpful to your business and a clean user interface that’s easy to manage.
The plugin allows online store owners to add shipment tracking details, which are then assigned to the appropriate orders. However, it doesn’t have all of the features that a lot of other third-party plugins offer.
5. Shipping Details Plugin for WooCommerce
Shipping Details plugin is one of the best shipping tracking plugins on the market today. It makes tracking orders and shipments simple. One of its handy features is that it notifies customers and company owners about the status of orders via regular emails. Some of the plugin’s other handy features include:

- Precise shipment tracking information for your clients. This information includes order numbers, address information, order notes, anticipated delivery date, etc.
Simple order numbers let customers easily track each order they place. You can also assign selected order numbers to members of your team, putting them in charge of tracking those shipments.
You don’t have to use the same template for every order. Different orders or types of products may require various fields. You can use this plugin to customize labels, order statuses, and fields as you wish. You can choose from multiple style elements to create a more appealing order tracking interface.
The style features are only available in the plugin’s premium version. The plugin supports both WooCommerce and PayPal. Using the premium model of the tool allows you to activate these integrations.
You have the option as an admin to hide or delete orders if you want. You can customize the content for order tracking emails that are sent automatically to your customers depending on order tracking status.
Using the premium edition gives you access to extra barriers for users to see during the order tracking process. For instance, you may require site visitors to log in to WordPress before they can access information about their orders.
7. WooCommerce Shipping Tracking
The WooCommerce Shipping Tracking plugin makes it easy for your clients to track their orders at any time. It also supplies detailed information about each order’s status via email notifications. You can link each order with a tracking number and the shipping company.
The plugin allows you to add details such as dispatch dates, the name of the shipping company, tracking URLs, and custom notes. This information can be displayed in the “View Order” page and “Complete Order” email.

You get to assign custom text and dispatch dates for your shipping fields. This lets both your admins and your clients easily track shipments. You can also use the admin panel to use the HTML snippets to customize email templates. This is introduced in both the order page and in WooCommerce emails.
With this tool, you can create tags that automatically determine the next date of the shipped product and create estimate rules for each product that you carry. Shop admins can use the “Quick Assign” option to send shipping information to each order instantly without having to go in and manually add or edit that information.
The plugin also manages bulk order data. Shop owners and admins can use CSV files to import bulk order tracking. Each CSV file has tracking data that includes the order number, shipping company, tracking IDs, and shipment date for each order.
It also lets you create date and time input fields. These fields can be viewed in both the checkout and order detail pages. Your customers can enter starting and ending dates and times for when they want to receive their merchandise.
8. Advanced Shipment Tracking for WooCommerce

Advanced Shipment Tracking (AST) for WooCommerce provides a list of over 100 shipping companies. Each company’s information includes an image and a pre-set tracking link. Some orders may have multiple packages. These packages can all be tracked at the same time. Their information will be displayed in the shipment history and included in the email updates.
WP Cargo’s strength comes in its premium add-ons. There are add-ons for every function that you may need to provide your customers with the most comprehensive order tracking system possible. Each feature comes with its own individual add-on. You can send updates to your clients using automated SMS.
They may need to be established using Mobily.ws, One Way SMS, or Twilio. You can also use a feature that allows your customers to create their own profiles on your website, which they can then use to track their orders.
The plugin currently supports FedEx and USPS shipping. You can add other couriers by using one of the add-ons to let your clients track shipments via your website. Thank you for your excellent review.
I would like to share my experience using WooCommerce Shipping Tracking, and to alert future shops about this plugin
1st – Translation – Nowadays, business have become more international and plugins should be able to do normal translation, using Loco; WPML, etc. This plugin don’t let you translate dynamic text = emails, just regular labels using WPML (mainly).
2nd – All your shipping must be with tracking, otherwise you will be sending empty tracking code for your customers (and is very bad for your image and customer support).
When you upload your order status the tracking will go with the email, not respecting the shipping!
3rd – UI design, you can check by yourself.
4rd – Support – Lack of support
There are better free and paid solutions, already on this review
