iBeesoft DBackup Review PROS & CONS (2023) – Best Backup Tool You Will Ever Need?

Data backups can protect against natural disasters, burglary, malware attempts, hard disk failure, and many other out-of-control situations. The ideal backups support more than one kind of backup mode (including differential, incremental and full backups). They should also allow more than one drive (including external drives), file size, and file type to be backed up.

iBeesoft DBackup makes backing up effortless with fast, intuitive transfer mechanisms. Whole operating systems and partitions, disks, and files can be backed up quickly. In this iBeesoft DBackup review, I will show the most important features of this backup utility and examine its value as your personal backup strategy option.

 

iBeesoft DBackup Review

Computer users can successfully back up USBs, external drives, operating systems, drives, and files with iBeesoft DBackup. It can also clone memory cards, USB drives, memory partitions, hard drives, and systems.

Backups have several modes:

• Full image backup – All of the folders and files you choose are backed up in this mode. The files are backed up again when the backup is run.
• Incremental backup – Your specified files and folders are backed up, just like how they are in the full image backup mode. The difference here is that this mode will only back up the data that was most recently changed.
• Differential backup – The incremental and differential backup modes are somewhat similar. With differential backup, all data changes made since the last full backup are included in the backup.

 

 

Backup schedules can be set in the following ways:

• Schedule backup – You can determine if you want your chosen files and folders to be backed up daily, weekly or monthly in this mode. The time of day that the backup process will begin can also be selected.
• Standalone backup – The volumes, folders, or files you selected will be backed up in this mode. Current operations won’t be interrupted, even when open files are backed up.

You won’t find too many backup software tools that are more powerful than iBeesoft DBackup. SDD, Serial ATA (SATA) HDD, and Parallel ATA (IDE) HDD are supported. Smart Card, CF Card, SD/Memory Card, and USB 1.0/2.0/3.0 flash drives are also supported and large-capacity drives or storage devices such as RAID.

iBeesoft DBackup is compliant with codes such as GDPR. You can delete confidential files and review all your backup logs.

Boot mode media can be used to restore your system in the event of a crash quickly. iBeesoft DBackup also has several impressive file support and file system options.

 

Installation & Activation

Windows XP and the above versions are supported by iBeesoft DBackup. It offers plenty of flexibility to backup entire operating systems or just selected folders and files. You’ll need enough space in your system to create backup images and 1 GB or more RAM, and about 250 MB of space for the system installer.

You will need to select a default location on your PC or an external drive to store the backups. File Erase, Lost File Recovery, and other iBeesoft products can be integrated with this backup tool.

You’ll need to validate your iBeesoft account by entering the activation code once the software has been installed. Or you can use it for free for 30-days and have full access while testing if the product is the right backup solution for your needs.

 

How Backup Works?

DBackup offers File Backup, Drive Backup, and System Backup. All backup functions can be completed using the built-in navigation options, and you can use the dashboard to access all available features.

 

 

A system alert will appear after the backup has finished. It will be saved as an image file in the destination selected by you previously.

Support for Dropbox, pCloud, Google Drive, Onedrive, or other similar cloud-based resources and possible integration with one or more of those tools would have been helpful. Unfortunately, this tool doesn’t have those options.

 

System Backup

Windows System is essential for a computer, so it is important to protect it in the event of system crashes.

 

 

System backup transfers all the data on the partition/disk(s) which you have selected to an image file. Click “System Backup,” and you will see options like:

• Backup name – Assign a name to distinguish backup easier in case you want to recover it. You can add your name or leave it with the default name.
• Source – Select the disk/partition(s) to back up. The system partition will be selected by default. You can specify multiple partitions or hard disks as a backup source.
• Storage location – Specify the destination to save the image file. By default, the path that you selected during installation will be used.
• Automatic backup – To specify when to run the backup in a schedule, click Turn on.
• Sector by sector backup will backup all the sectors on the selected partition(s)/hard disk(s). This will result in a bigger image backup as there will be no data compression, and the process may take longer.

Click Start to finish the setting. The backup will be executed immediately.

 

Drive Backup

Disk backup will backup all your files on the disk into a compressed image file, including all partitions or volumes on this disk. It supports backup MBR disk, GPT disk, external hard drive, USB disk, and other storage devices that Windows can recognize.

 

 

File Backup

File backup will back up specified files, folders, or file types, including documents, images, music, emails, applications, videos, etc.

 

 

It’s simple to choose the folders and files that you want to backup. A navigation drop-down menu will present those selections. You can determine your backup needs by going through your folders and subfolders.

 

Scheduled Backups

Specify backup as a set interval. All the backups in the schedule will be executed automatically as long as the computer is powered on at the specified time.

If a scheduled backup is missed for some reason, like due to power failure or the computer is turned off, the last missed scheduled backup will automatically run after the computer is turned on.

To enable scheduled backups, you need to turn ON the Automatic Backup option. This is possible in File Backup, Drive Backup and System Backup. After enabling that option, you will see additional settings.

Full backups will put all selected items in image backup. Incremental backups only update the folders and files that were altered since the last backup was performed. This eliminates the need to run full backups on a routine basis.

Differential backups only save the differences that were made since the last backup was completed.

 

Additional Options

Next to each completed backup, you will have several options to perform. You can Restore, Backup (set backup mode like full, incremental, and differential), and Edit. Under Edit, you can Edit Backup, Delete Backup, Locate Image, Check Image and Delete Image.

 

 

Check Image can verify the validity of the image file after backup and confirm that the image file can be recovered successfully.

If you want to change the options or parameters for backup, then click Edit. In the window, all parameters can be modified. Please notice that all the changes only take effect for the following task and will be available after saving the changes.

 

How Recovery Feature Works?

In case you want to restore a backup, you will use the recovery option. It will restore files to the time point when the image file was created. As long as there is a valid backup, then all data loss can be easily reversed.

Files can still be restored to a specified date if folders and documents are altered. That way, you won’t have to worry when files or folders change.

 

 

To restore the backup file, click Load Backup and then locate the backup file. Select the source file, and you will see options like:

• Backup point – You can select the backup point to recover.
• Recover to the original location or select a new location.
• Replace existing files
• Recover NTFS permissions – You can choose to restore the security properties file if you backed up the security properties file.

Click Start to start recovery. The recovery process will be shown in the window.

For restoring drive backup, the process is the same. You will also have additional features like Sector by sector recovery and Universal Restore (restore to another computer). There will also be an option to Optimize for SSD (f the destination disk is SSD, check this option to ensure sector alignment in the process) and Set active (only one primary partition can be set as active among all the primary partitions in the hard disk).
