Getting Started

When you log in for the first time, you will be greeted with a setup wizard where you set the name of your podcast, import podcast (you can skip it), and choose a website theme. Once that done, you will be redirected to a customizer where a short live tour will introduce you to how things work.

A branded subdomain will be generated every time you add a site on Podcastpage. In paid plans, you can add a custom domain.

To add a podcast, you just need to click on Podcasts > Add New Podcast. Then you will be able to find your podcast using the search option or paster RSS feed URL.

As soon as you do this, Podcastpage will extract all podcast content to display it on the website. Content will be automatically synced, but you can also do it manually.

Account dashboard is easy to use and every option is nicely dosplayed in the left sidebar.

The “Danger Zone” allows you to delete a whole site, delete all blog posts and pages, or reset customizations. Keep in mind that any actions taken in this section can’t be reversed.

Sites that you created will be permanently lost if they are deleted.

For adding podcast episodes manually, you need to go to the “Podcasts” section and click “Add Episode.”

You will then have options like Episode Title, Episode Slug, Podcast Audio URL, Embed Audio Player, Episode Content, Episode Summary, Episode Transcript, Episode Image, Episode Guests, Episode Video, etc.

Templates

There are only four templates available. They are rather identical and tend to follow the same header and footer styles but explicitly designed for podcast purposes.

There aren’t many template customization choices either. The templates are responsive so that they will look great on handheld devices. You can also switch between the four templates, and all content will be transferred.

Customization

If you used WordPress before, you will see a familiar interface. Podcastpage uses the same live customizer as WordPress.

Under “Customize”, you access Podcastpage customization options. Here you will find settings like General Settings, Header & Footer, Audio Player, Sidebars, Homepage Episodes, Homepage Podcast Header, etc.

From the General Settings portion, you can adjust the site’s padding, fonts, font sizes, colors, etc. There are plenty of fonts to select. The navigation bar makes it easy to find the perfect fonts for your needs. You will be able to see all changes made automatically as you make them.

You can customize logos, fonts, colors, tweak the layout settings, audio player settings, etc.

Your episode list layout and header content can be adjusted on the homepage. You can use the “Custom Homepage Content” option in the Customizer to customize the homepage further or add new sections.

It would be good to have a drag and drop system. Something like what WordPress page builders like Elementor offer but simplified as Podcastpage doesn’t need a bunch of features.

You will not have to spend a lot of time on setting podcast feed or episode pages. Podcastpage can be useful if you want to build a basic podcast site.

To add a new page, go to the Pages section. Select the “New Page” option.

Managing Blog

Managing website pages is rather similar to how you can manage a blog. Go to the Blog section and choose “New Post” when you’re ready to create a new post. To customize that post, you can add a Post Featured Image, Post Content, Post URL, Post Title, etc. Once done, click on Save & Publish, and the post will go live.

Integrations

The podcast project management tool PodCave and the promotional tool Headliner can be integrated with Podcastpage. Those are just examples of numerous integrations that Podcastpage offers.

It also integrates with Disqus if you want to allow users to leave comments on your content. From email integrations, it supports MailChimp and ConvertKit, as well as Google Analytics and HubSpot Analytics for tracking the site’s performance.

Additional Options

Advanced search engine optimization settings, excerpts, videos, transcripts, and show notes can be set in all of your episode pages. If you want to allow listeners to jump to the interviews, portions, or topics that they’re most interested in, you can add timestamps.

You can also create custom redirects to make it easy for your followers to visit a third-party website. This is useful for making money through affiliate links but also useful if you want to direct listeners to some further reading.

However, this integration is only available if you’re signed up to the Podcast Network plan. You also have to pay a fee to Supercast each month for every member that subscribes.

There are three paid plans for Podcastpage which can be paid either monthly or annualy. Although there’s no free plan available, Podcastpage offers a 14-day free trial. You can test out the features before signing up for a specific plan.
