Theia Post Slider Review

Theia Post Slider is a very impressive WordPress post-navigational plugin. It allows you to use content sliders to show multi-page posts. Using Theia Post Slider, page navigation will have a clean, modern look and feel.

Using the Theia Post Slider, you can maximize ad revenue. Also, sometimes it is smart to separate content into several smaller sections if you have long articles. This tactic can help speed up page load times, add extra page views, and bring more incremental revenue from the same site visitors. It’s an effective method that can especially be useful in gallery style posts.

Theia Post Slider Settings

You’ll find the Theia Post Slider menu in the “Settings” portion of your WordPress admin area after the plugin has been installed and activated. The plugin has eight tabs. Those are Dashboard, General, Navigation Bar, Carousel, Advanced, Troubleshooting, Account, and Contact us. The Contact us section lets you get in touch with support if necessary.

The Account tab has information about the license and other details regarding the plugin. You can use the Troubleshooting tab if you encounter any issues. The Dashboard shows changelog, links to other plugins from the same developer, etc.

General Settings

The General tab has the following settings:

  • Theme – Here, you can set the slider’s visual theme mainly used for previous and next buttons. You can always create a custom theme if you don’t like the look of the default themes or if you want a unique slider. All that’s required is a little basic CSS knowledge. You can choose from 183 different SVG vector icons. You can even change the background color, border radius, color, padding, and size. You can also pick from any of the 38 predesigned themes. The Live Preview option allows you to see edits as soon as they’ve been made.
  • Transition effect – The transition effect is the animation effect that’s used when you go from one slide to the next. There are four effect options provided: fade, simple, slide, or none.
  • Transition duration – Here, you can determine how many milliseconds each transition effect will last.
  • Custom CSS – If you want additional customization for your slider, you can use this setting to add custom CSS.

Navigation Settings

Under Navigation settings, you will find:

  • Navigation text – There’s a text field that shows both the total and the current number of slides. The field is right between the “previous” and “next” buttons. You can use this setting to edit the text that appears in this field.
  • Helper text – This setting can be used to add instructions on how to use a particular slider. These instructions will then be displayed to site visitors.
  • Previous and next button text – Here, you can add the text that will be shown on the “previous” and “next” buttons.
  • Button width (px) – You can use this option to set the width of buttons.
  • Horizontal position – This option allows to set slider arrow position. The choices that you have are: center, center (with helper text in the middle), left, right, full width, or half-width.
  • Vertical position – Here, you can assign a vertical position or enable slider arrows. The available options are top and bottom, bottom, none, top, none.

The Post Navigation gives you different choices for button positioning. You can enable additional post navigation, for instance.

Sliders are only used to move back and forth between different pages of a post by default. You won’t see a slider on posts that are only one page. Enabling an additional post navigation option will enable sliders to be used on all posts. Sliders will then appear on all posts and can be used to navigate between pages and different posts.

Other changes that you can change are button width and the scroll offset. You can even set the previous and next buttons to navigate only through posts of the same category.

In the Additional Content option, you will see some helpful settings. You can alter the content that appears underneath a slider and the content that appears above the slider. You can also edit the content beneath the top navigation and the content above the top navigation.

Carousel Settings

Here are the settings that can be set in the Carousel tab:

  • Enabled – The setting activates or deactivates the carousel. This can also be set on a post-by-post basis.
  • The number of thumbnails displayed – This option allows you to set the number of thumbnails that you want site visitors to see simultaneously. The rest of the thumbnails are displayed when users scroll the carousel. This setting can also be set on a post-by-post basis.
  • Height (px) – Here, you can assign the height of the carousel. Thumbnails use the “best fit” when shown, so you don’t need to worry about images being stretched out.
  • Thumbnail spacing (px) – Lets you set the spacing between each thumbnail.
  • Thumbnail size – Set the size of every thumbnail image in the carousel.
  • Vertical position – Carousel can be shown in the following ways: top, bottom, top (after the navigation bar), bottom (before the navigation bar).
  • Source image position – Plugin has to pull a thumbnail image from each page or slide you use. The selected visual can be the last image or the first image that was found. Custom images can also be used.
  • Navigation Buttons – Customize carousel “next” and “previous” buttons. They can be identical to your primary, or you could opt for something entirely different.

How Theia Post Slider Works?

Theia Post Slider works best for posts that have more than one page. To split up post in multiple pages, in the post editor add the “Insert Page Break” selection. This option can be used to add page breaks in posts and will work no matter if you use Classic Editor or Gutenberg editor.

How Theai Post Slider plugin works?

You can add a header to be shown above the slider and a footer underneath the slider. The header and footer will be shown on every page in that post. You can even create separate titles for each page in a post. You can even add “Start Slideshow” button on the slider. All this can be added with a simple click on TPS icons in post editor.

Best premium WordPress post slider plugin.
This is example how you can add header, footer, titles or slideshow for your slides in classic editor. But if you are using Gutenberg, you will need to add those manually.

But if you are using Gutenberg editor, you will not have options to click icons in editor and add header above slider, footer belove slider, create separate titles or add slideshow. In that case you will need to use shortcodes and manually enter. You can find all available shortcodes in the plugin documentation.

You will most likely not be able to use Theia Post Slider with page builder plugins. I have tried with Elementor and it seems it doesn’t work. But if you are already using page builder plugin, then you will not need Theia Post Slider anyways as most page builders offer blocks, modules or elements to create post slides.

Theia Post Slider is not optimized for Gutenberg out-of-the-box.
This is how adding header and slide title will look when adding via Gutenberg. You will need to manualy enter shortcode.

Based on above examples, this is how slider will look when previewed:

Changing the label attribute allows you to change the button name. Style and class shortcode attributes can be used to further style button. Style shortcodes can be used to integrate custom CSS rules, and with the class shortcode, you can use a pre-existing CSS class.

When editing each post in editor, you will have Theia Post Slider options, which you can use to override global settings.

By default, for slides with images, first or last image found in that particular slide will be used. However, in case you have multiple images in your slides, you can override this setting by adding the custom class on the image you want to use as thumbnail.

The plugin supports Google Analytics, Piwik, Quantcast, and StatCounter. You will be able to register pageviews each time a user navigates to a particular slide. For example, whenever a user selects the “next” or “previous” options or when the page is loaded. Just keep in mind that the total page view count will be determined by each site visitor’s activity and actions.

  1. Sliders are a great way to add visual interest to a website and engage users with your content. They allow you to show multiple pieces of information or images without taking up too much space on the page. Additionally, sliders can be customized to match the style and branding of your website, making them a versatile and valuable tool for any business or organization. However, it’s important to use them wisely and not overload your page with too many slides or too much information, as it can be overwhelming for users.

  2. When I split the post into pages, the page source is also split into multiple parts, which is detrimental to SEO. It works fine on many sites, but I couldn’t understand why it wasn’t working properly for me. I would be grateful if you could offer me a tip.
