I decided to make Datafeedr review as I received couple emails asking me if Datafeedr is a good choice to build affiliate site using WordPress. Short answer – YES.

With the ability to automatically update prices and to add product price comparisons from different stores, Datafeedr is a fantastic tool to maximize your affiliate earnings. Many website owners are creating WordPress affiliate store as a way to earn money on the Internet.

That has become very simple as WordPress offers various themes and plugins intended for the purpose of earning affiliate commission fees by promoting different products from Amazon, eBay, ClickBank, Rakuten, Zanox, Affiliate Window, etc.

Of course, you can set up regular WordPress or review based affiliate store or shop. But it is proven that most conversions in affiliate business get websites which offer some value to buyers.

Knowing that it is best to set up review + affiliate comparison store or blog. So if your site is about gaming equipment you could write a review about latest gaming mouse. Then you put affiliate links to various stores which sell that particular gaming mouse.

The review provides insight into product, while comparison can be used to show prices from different stores (with your affiliate link) providing the buyer with opportunities and best price for the wanted product.

When you set up your own e-commerce store as an affiliate marketer, it is a process that doesn’t require you to own or stock any products, keep track of refunds and returns, or even deal with customer service and shipping issues.

As more and more website owners got aware of that possibility, e-commerce solutions companies like Datafeedr.com saw an enormous potential for affiliate marketers.

Having your own e-commerce online store is actually much simpler than most people think. Each time a sale is made the affiliate who owns the web site receives a commission from the company who owns the product.

When you take into consideration that there are hundreds of millions of products which affiliate can use on their website, store or blog, the possibilities for profit are huge!

Datafeedr Review – Create WordPress Affiliate Store

Anybody can have WordPress affiliate store. You just need a domain, hosting and WordPress. The problem is which tool, plugin, a theme to use for your affiliate store? Here comes Datafeedr.

No matter which WordPress theme or plugin you are using, Datafeedr can be used on any WordPress site. You can use it as an addition to your blog or website. Or even create WordPress affiliate store by using data feeds. What are data feeds? Data feeds make possible to display products from one or more merchants in the same web site.

They are similar to the RSS feeds used by blogs. An e-commerce store will place descriptions, pictures, and prices of their products into these feeds, and then affiliate marketers can put these feeds into their own e-commerce store or website and make a commission off of each product sold.

Adding products manually to your site is possible, but it’s a time-consuming process. Datafeedr is a fantastic tool for building comparison affiliate sites. It integrates with nearly every affiliate network that exists and allows you to create niche affiliate websites very quickly.

It creates product search, product category, and product detail pages within WordPress and allows your users to search and compare any affiliated products you choose to add to your store.

How Does Datafeedr Work?

Datafeedr connects to all the affiliate networks and downloads affiliate data-feeds. It pulls this data into a central administration area called the Datafeedr Factory. From this factory, you configure which categories you would like to have on your website and which products you want inside those categories.

Inside the factory there is an editor to manipulate how the shop appears once it ends up on your WordPress site. That option is highly configurable with many elements and variables available to help you build perfect WordPress affiliate store.

WordPress Affiliate Store

Here are some basic requirements to start working with Datafeedr:

  1. An account at one or more of the affiliate networks that Datafeedr support
  2. A domain name
  3. A web host that meets the following requirements: Apache web server, Linux operating system (most shared hosting offers Linux operating systems), PHP 5.0+, MySQL 5.0.3+, PHP’s cURL extension installed or allow_url_fopen set to true.(The last requirement is optional. It’s required for automatic & 1-click store updates.)
  4. WordPress Version 3.5+

NOTE: Datafeedr plugin is not compatible with WordPress websites hosted at WP Engine.

Datafeedr Features

Here are some of the various features that Datafeedr provides:

#1 WordPress Integration

Install Datafeedr on new or existing WordPress websites. Datafeedr integrates with WordPress and nearly all available themes and plugins. You can also choose to display products separately from your blog posts and blog categories.

You can quickly and easily create a unique looking website without having to edit HTML or CSS to match your site’s design.

Datafeedr comes with many default widgets so you can display store categories, products, product tag clouds, product search forms and other store-related links anywhere your theme allows.

#2 Automatic Store Updates

Once you have your store set up it will update automatically. You can configure your store to update every day or every few days. When your store updates, all your product information will be updated: product prices, descriptions and most importantly affiliate product links.

For example, if a merchant changes their affiliate product links, Datafeedr will update them automatically for you. You don’t need to do a thing. Datafeedr updates all of the product data in your store regularly at an interval you choose.

Set up your store to update once a week, once every three days, daily, or at another interval that suits you.

#3 Saved Search Subscriptions

The days of adding one product to your store at a time are over. Whenever a merchant adds a new product to their inventory that matches your search, that product will automatically be added to your store.

You can do single-word, multi-word, phrasal, exact word and negative word searches to find products to add to your store.

#4 Shortcodes

Shortcodes enable you to put products right in front of your visitors wherever they are on your website. For example, let’s say you’ve written an article reviewing three different wine bottle openers.

You can easily embed those products (along with their image and price) right into your article. Or, if you’ve written a review of a single product, you can embed a comparison set listing the best prices offered by different merchants right into the top, middle or bottom of your post.

Your visitors can click through to the merchant’s site directory right from your blog post or article.

#5 Comparison Sets

Comparison sets are a great way for your store’s visitors to find the best price for products. Users on the verge of buying a product online will usually complete their shopping by trying to find the best price for the product they want to buy.

This last stage in the buying process can be frustrating and time-consuming because the shopper usually has to visit many websites, keep track of the best price and then make their purchase decision.

Datafeedr lets you create WordPress affiliate store for any product in your store so that your visitors can see prices from different merchants all in one place… on your website.

This enables you to increase conversions and revenue by being the one-stop shopping destination for the products you promote.

#6 Content Spinning

We all know Google and other search engines love unique content. Your store is full of products with descriptions that can be “spun” to create new and unique content for your website.

For example, add the replacement pattern: luxurious, splendid, grandiose as a substitute pattern and the sentence “…one of the city’s most luxurious hotels…” might become “…one of the city’s most splendid hotels…” or “…one of the city’s most grandiose hotels…”.

Just add your own replacement patterns and your product names and descriptions will be updated with new, unique names and descriptions. Substituting is based on your own custom replacement patterns and works for any language.

As alternative you can use tools like WordAI (check WordAI review) and Spin Rewriter (check Spin Rewriter review), or WordPress auto spinner plugin.

#7 Widgets

Datafeedr has many WordPress widgets that can expose elements of your store on any/every page of your blog. You can have store products appearing to the left or right of that great article your visitor first sees.

You can also display a product search form on every page of your website to give your visitors quick access to products they want. The faster a visitor finds what they’re looking for, the more likely you will convert that visitor into a buyer.

#8 Database Driven

When displaying your store’s products and categories, your website’s visitors are not the only ones you want to view all of those store pages.

You also want search engines such as Google to be able to crawl that content, too. If search engines can’t crawl your pages, potential customers searching for the products you sell won’t find your store.

Google and other search engines can’t “see” content stored in HTML frames or using JavaScript. A lot of other data feed tools display store data that way, but none of that content will be indexed by search engines.

Datafeedr stores are database driven. This means that all of your store’s category and product pages are crawlable and indexable by the search engines. That means every category and every product has its own unique, crawlable, indexable URL.

#9 Product Dripping

New content keeps visitors and search engines regularly coming back. But often we don’t have time to update our blog. That’s where product dripping comes in. Set up the drip so that products from your store are automatically posted as new blog posts, one at a time, at an interval you choose.

You can drip any product from your store or drip only products from a particular category. You can configure products to be dripped at any interval you like. For example, you can drip products once every 3 to 6 hours, or once every 24-36 hours or once a week.

#10 Products from Various Merchants and Networks on One Page

Traditional data feed tools have a couple of problems. One common issue is that you can only import one data feed into your website.

Another problem, if you are able to import multiple feeds, is that syncing up categories between the various data feeds is impossible. What you end up with is a store with many different categories all displaying the same products…

With Datafeedr, you can include products from multiple merchants and networks in an organized manner. For example, you can display iPhones from BestBuy, Wal-Mart, and TigerDirect all in one category in your store.

Datafeedr makes it easy for you to build an organized, highly curated store and offer the best selection of products to your visitors to keep them coming back.

#11 Simple and Advanced Search Forms

Simple or advanced search forms on your website make it easier for your website’s visitors to find products they are looking for, getting them one step closer to making a purchase.

Some of your website’s visitors will casually browse your store while others will want to find what they are looking quickly. For the visitors who are ready to buy, Datafeedr has advanced browsing features such as ordering product lists by price, name, popularity, etc.

In addition to sorting products, your visitors can use the Advanced Search widget. Through this widget, visitors can search your store for specific elements such as product name, keyword, price, brand and other parameters.

#12 Easy Store Customizations

Customize nearly every part of your website store. Use the drag and drop functionality to layout your store and use preconfigured snippets to add new elements to store pages. Datafeedr provides built-in store templates with every store you create.

Your store will look great as soon as you import it into your website. In case you need more control over how pages are displayed, you have access to nearly all of the HTML as well as the ability to override your store’s default CSS. Or even add your own PHP to pages for further customization.

#13 Coupons

Datafeedr supports merchant coupons. Coupons help increase sales by encouraging visitors to buy while the products are on sale or a discount code is available. Datafeedr enables you to display available coupons for goods or merchants in your store.

You can also create store categories solely for displaying coupons. Everybody likes a discount or special price. Show deals to your website’s visitors when they are ready to buy and increase your affiliate revenue.

#14 Keep 100% of Commissions

You keep 100% of the commissions that you refer. Datafeedr doesn’t take a portion of your affiliate earnings.

#15 StoreYa Integration

In case you want to import your Datafeedr store into Facebook, SoreYa Integration will do the trick. Add up to 10,000 affiliate products into a beautifully designed store hosted on Facebook. StoreYa Integration even works if you don’t have a WordPress blog. Just create your store and import straight into your Facebook account.

#16 WooCommerce Integration

Search, select and import affiliate products into your WordPress website and display those products using WooCommerce. You will need to install and activate Datafeedr WooCommerce Importer plugin.

NOTE: This plugin requires that you have an active subscription to one of API plans. Simply use the search form to find the products you want to promote, then click to import those products directly into your WooCommerce store.

Datafeedr API and the Factory Option

The “Factory” is protected members area where you can configure the general settings, design, and layout of your store and where you can manage your merchant and affiliate network configuration.

Once you have set up your store in the Factory, you can then import your store into your WordPress blog by using the Datafeedr Factory plugin. By using the WooCommerce plugin in combination with the Datafeedr API you can build a WooCommerce affiliate store.

The Datafeedr WooCommerce Importer allows you to import products from the Datafeedr API directly into your WordPress blog.

Unlike the Datafeedr Factory – configuring your store, managing your merchant and affiliate network settings is all taking place in your site WordPress admin area.

Another important distinction is that products are stored in the WP posts table meaning that any plugins that extend post functionality like social media plugins, SEO plugins, and more can be used with products imported by the WooCommerce Importer.

Datafeedr API vs Datafeedr Factory – Which to Pick?

As WordPress user your best choice to create comparison site with affiliate products and automatic price updates is API product. It can even be in combination with WooCommerce plugin.

You will be able to tap into a huge number of affiliate networks. Except for Amazon. API doesn’t support inserting Amazon products. For automatically creating comparison sets for products and prices, you can use Datafeedr Comparison Sets plugin.

When should you choose the Factory product? From WP point of view, Datafeedr Factory can also be used, but cant be integrated with WooCommerce.

It also doesn’t work with other WordPress e-commerce themes, and there is 100,000 products limit per store. Factory product supports the ability to add Amazon products without the need for third-party tools.

Still confused which one to pick? Check the image below and for complete comparison between API and Factory click on the picture.

You may cancel your subscription and re-subscribe to service whenever you desire. There is no free trial.

Datafeedr Multiple Installations

You can install multiple stores into one website. To do so, you have to install multiple instances of WordPress, so it gets a little messy. You might wish to do this, for example, if you are building the UK and a US store. In this case, you can have your stores located at:

www.myaffiliatesite.com/uk

www.myaffiliatesite.com/us

Or alternatively you can set this kind of thing up using subdomains, e.g.

us.myaffiliatesite.com

uk.myaffiliatesite.com

Datafeedr Advantages & Disadvantages

Here are some benefits and disadvantages of using Datafeedr for creating affiliate stores with automatic product and price updates plus comparison deals.

DATAFEEDR PROS:

1. You can quickly create professional affiliate stores with WordPress. This frees up more of your time to focus on marketing the websites instead of building them.

2. Anyone familiar with WordPress can use this service with little training.

3. The support seems to be great.

4. The service is regularly updated to improve functionality and to add more affiliate networks and merchant datafeeds.

5. It is search engine friendly and uses WordPress which is also a great SEO tool.

6. It offers a “drip” feature which allows your site to appear to be continuously updated to visitors and to search engines.

DATAFEEDR CONS:

1. It is a bit expensive starting at $29 per month. Though if you promote your affiliate stores correctly you should be able to make money with this service.

2. You have to be an affiliate of the various networks to add products to your store. This isn’t really a problem, but can sometimes take time for different merchants to approve your affiliate request (many will accept you immediately).

Datafeedr Review Summary

Datafeedr offers an easy way to create browsable, searchable WordPress affiliate store, website, comparison site or blog. They offer various plans depending on how many stores you want to create and if you would rather use their API or Factory plan.

All plans offer same features. Though API and Factory, plans have some differences. You can upgrade or downgrade your account at any time. If you need to take a break, you can cancel your Datafeedr subscription. You’re not locked into any long term commitments.

As alternative to Datafeedr in creating affiliate price comparison site in WordPress, you can use Content Egg pluginAffi AI, or AmaLinks.

I just found out i want to be affiliate marketer and i want to build a website that can upload 100000 products from all fashion retails.so i am looking at datafeedr .Is there any other software that can do like datafeedr?can i use content egg?

  2. Quick question for you.
I’m Clickbank affiliate and I’m struggling to find a good plugin to do what datafeeder does:
    1. Pull the data from the clickbank market place.
    2. Display them on the website.
Unfortunately, when I pull down the data from Clickbank, I don’t have any prices nor images.
I also noticed the the support pages at datafeeder haven’t been updated since 2015. I can’t believe nobody has asked a question since that time.
Do you know if this is supposed to be fully functional with Clickbank?
What the point of having products with no prices, no images, … etc.
Do you know anything else that would work with ClickBank?
Anyone else here is Clickbank affiliate? Anyone has solved this problem?

    Wouri.

  3. Hi Kasa!

Your reviews are always welcome and useful.

I have used Datafeedr and really liked it. I just wish the price is cheaper.

    Best regards

    1. Hi Carlo,

Yes, the price is monthly. I would also like to see Datafeedr implement one-time pricing plans or at least annual.

    1. I like Datafeedr features and I think it is amazing tool. But I don’t like its pricing model where you need to pay each month.

So if you are just starting with website, you will not have that much traffic which means you would be paying Datafeedr but without getting profit.

Datafeedr would be good option if you already receive decent traffic to your site.

Content Egg pricing is yearly based and it is affordable. Renewal is amazing. You only pay $15 for renewal each year no matter how many license you have.

Also as I am currently actively using Content Egg and I recommend trying it out.

  4. Great review! We have been using Datafeedr before and will use it again. One downside of the plugin is that you will have to check the products on the search results pages of the plugin most of the time and can’t just set it to import all. Because, however it’s possible to narrow down the search quite far, there are often products found you don’t want to import to the website or category. Besides that it’s a wonderful and powerful service and plugin!

  5. This is great tool. Didnt know something like that is available. It would definitely save time and effort-

    Is it worthy investment?

    1. Hey Mark,

I personally did test for couple of days so cant say how good is it in longterm use. As there is 30 days refund policy I think it is worthy to at least try and see how it goes.
