Automatically Share WordPress Posts To Social Networks

Last Updated

When you publish a new blog post, you probably want to share it on as many social networks as possible to get the word out.

In that cases it is not bad to have plugin that will automatically share wordpress posts to social networks.

It is far better than manually go to several different social networks to share content despite that sharing manually you can add a personal touch to each post, as opposed to sending out the same thing to all of your social networks.

However, it’s also a time-consuming process. Sometimes you just don’t have the time to share your new content manually.

This is why many bloggers opt for automatic sharing, which is not only easier, but more convenient.

Social Networks Auto Poster Review

There are many ways that you can automatically share your content on the Web.

My personal best way to automatically share WordPress posts to social networks for free is WordPress plugin called Social Networks Auto Poster.

I have been using this plugin for some time now on several sites I manage.

NextScripts is by far the best plugin for auto-posting to numerous social networks.

It supports 24 social networks in time of writing this (more coming soon), including Facebook, Instapaper, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, StumbleUpon, Tumblr, Twitter, YouTube…

You can even post to multiple accounts on the same social network (i.e. multiple Twitter accounts, multiple Facebook pages).

The plugin makes 100% white labeled posts, meaning the posts will look as if you posted them directly.

No “shared via” or “posted by SNAP for WordPress” messages.

There is free and pro version of this plugin. Free version can be downloaded on

Didnt tested PRO version as free version was good enough for me.

Difference between free and pro version will be explained later on so keep reading.

Automatically Share WordPress Posts To Social Networks

Social Networks Auto Poster (SNAP) will automatically publish posts from your site or blog to your Social Network accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Blogger, Tumblr, Flickr, LiveJournal, Flipboard, FriendFeed, DreamWidth, Delicious, Diigo, Instapaper, Stumbleupon, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Plurk, VKontakte(, YouTube,, Scoop. It, WordPress, etc.

All is done automatically so it doesn’t require your manual action.

Every time you publish new post it will be posted to all your chosen sharing sites and thus creating baclinks to your content and increasing traffic to your site.

If you use it, be sure that your content is tip-top as there is no changing it when it goes out.

As you can see there are plenty of social sharing sites on your disposal.

Pinterest, Google+, YouTube, Reddit, Flipboard and LinkedIn are only available in PRO version of the plugin. Author also keeps adding new social networks.

The huge plus is that, even in free version, there will be no label “Shared via” or “Posted by SNAP for WordPress.” I salute author of plugin for this.

For every social sharing site, you wish to configure to auto post, come detailed instructions.

I got to warn you that for some setups you will need time. First time when I went to configure all social networks accounts I spend 3 hours at least.

Reading all instructions carefully, registering for accounts on sites I never heard before which plugin supports and so on.

Luckily you don’t need to do that every time for each of your site as there is export settings option. So you just import settings on a new site.

When you activate plugin you can add one account per social network site on which your posts will be automatically posted or reposted.

Or you can import settings from your other site which uses Social Networks Auto Poster plugin and just adjust settings.

If you want to add more than one account per social site then you will need to buy pro version.

But for most of us multiple account are not needed. (see pictures below, NOTE: I have blanked my data)

Add account for every social sharing site you want to automatically share WordPress posts or register for them if you don’t already have.

For most, putting username and password is enough to configure. But some like Facebook, Twitter, Plurk will need API key and little bit of devotion to set it up right.

Dont worry, there are detailed instructions provided so you shouldnt have much problems.

There is option to import comments too, which is really nice.

Reposting existing posts is my favorite option and main reason for using this WordPress plugin.

But reposting is a main pain in the ass I had with this plugin. I will write more about that.

Oh yes, I almost forgot. You can even post to Facebook pages too, not only to profile.

In settings there is again much options. You can ignore most of them if you want.

In Log/History you can see your last 150 post to social networks.

Here you can also see where autopost/repost didn’t succeed and what error occurred.

That is helpful as you can then see errors and start looking how to resolve it.

Most of instructions troubleshooting can be found on nextscripts website.

Plugin really has many settings and many possibilities. I personally hate when it is needed to spend lot of time in configuration.

When I see plugin with many settings, often I just instant delete it without trying it.

Process to automatically share WordPress posts to social networks when you publish new post works great.

I don’t know if I mentioned, but below every post this plugin adds option to solely repost that single post.

You can even choose on which social networks you want Nextscripts auto poster to post. Great option. Works great.

Now the thing that pisses me the most with this plugin… It is reposting option.

Reposting existing posts on scheduled time…. Now that is a different story. First I just couldn’t set it right when I activated plugin for the first time.

It would post duplicates, then it would repost instantly few posts at the same time (I wanted to repost one different post every few hours), then it would repost only to some networks and many more problems.

The aggravating circumstance was that I just didn’t understand how reposting works. It is explained in instructions but very poorly. At least that is my opinion.

Then it came update and I manage to get reposting to work after many days and hours trying to figure it out. It was finally working as I wanted.

Dont hope to get much or any support on from plugin author. Users of PRO version have priority.

NOTE: Not sure how reposting options on scheduled time works nowadays as didn’t used it for very long time.

Social Networks Auto-poster

While not without bugs and problems, Nextscripts Social Networks Auto Poster plugin is good to automatically share WordPress posts to social sharing sites.

As totally free alternative you can try IFTTT. It is not WordPress plugin but also does a great job.

As paid WordPress plugin alternative you could also try Social Auto Poster – WordPress Plugin. It is currently priced $29 on Codecanyon.

SNAP provides huge number of social sharing site on which you can manually or automatically publish your website content. It is little hard and time consuming to set all social sharing sites and settings. Developer is constantly updating plugin which is very important. Sadly, dont expect much support for free version of plugin. SNAP comes in free and paid version. Free version will be enough for most users and it is highly recommended.

Well David I cant say I saw some major SEO benefits. SNAP is good WordPress plugin to autopublish and promote content to various Social networks and that is main purpose I am using it.

No manually posting content. SNAP does that for you. Then, depending on your followers on social networks, visitors will come to your site and hopefully share content ( we know Google loves sites with lot of shared content) , subscribe to mailing list or in best case scenario turn into conversions.

Depending what you need I think it is better to have it than dont.

        Hi Kasa,
It is great you are using SNAP but i would like you to go through one at Blog2Social which is equally nice as SNAP and the main advantage is that it is a simply installation and activation wordpress plugin

          Hi Jane,

I have looked at plugin features. Though Blog2Social free version makes possible to post to Google+ and Pinterest profile, it doesnt make possible to post to Facebook pages.

So I will stick with SNAP free version as automatic posting to Facebook page is more important to me while keeping free option.
